x86 --dual mode error

0 votes

Hello everyone, I have been referring to this link: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.m5.users/19591

in order to enable --dual option for X86 FS mode.

I have passed through every steps except when I try to run the sample script,

build/X86/gem5.opt configs/example/fs.py --kernel=x86_64-vmlinux-3.2.24
--disk-image=linux-bigswap2.img --dual

I face this issue of

AttributeError: object 'LinuxX86System' has no attribute 'Ethernet'

I have been debugging it a bit and it seems like when makeX86System which calls self = X86System(), X86System() doesn't have the object Ethernet (which makes sense since that's the reason why I'm trying to enable x86 dual mode), but currently not too sure where I need to start debugging.

I'm currently installing gem5 again with ARM to see if I can gather some idea on how ARM uses Ethernet, but figured to see if anyone has faced similar issue while implementing x86 --dual and could provide me some idea.

Thanks for any suggestions.
